Hello everyone,
We are here and safe and sound after our first day in country. We had a great trip over with no complications. As a matter of fact we were a little concerned with our connection in Minniapolis which was cut to 20 minutes after our flight was a little late. The airport there is big and they had us switching terminals, which had me not feeling to good. The great thing was Northwest had those little go cars that you have to dodge at the airport waiting for all of us. We were rushed off the plane on the carts and went cruising through the airport. I am now convinced that you do not have to have a drivers liscense to hold that job! We made it, and the bigger miracle was our bags even made it.
We arrived late last night and got to our hotel ready for bed I promise you. The total travel time from door to door was just under 30 hours.
Today the kids got to tour the city of Accra and in that we went the National Museum where they learned alot about the history and the culture. They are all excited and can't wait to hit the road in the morning (5am departure) for the drive to Bamboi. I have been informed that the internet in Bamboi has not been working for some time so I am not sure the next time I will be able to post. I hope it will not be more than two days, but we will see.
Thank you all for you comments I will be reading them to the team tonight in our team meeting. Please continue to pray for us and one specific thing to pray is that our money will be multiplied while we are here. The prices are quite a bit higher than even last November when I was here. Ain't inflation great?
Until next time be blessed, cause we sure are!!!!!!!

Those guys in the airport were trained by Shuttle Express! A trip wouldn't be a trip without an airport story.
You guys are operating in God's economy and we will be standing on His word for your finances whether that be favor in pricing or deals or found money.
Be blessed,
The other Torp family!
PS: Dustie and Vanessa, we love you very much and we are very proud of you.
Hi Angela,
Glad to hear you made it safely. I'll be praying for you over the next couple weeks and hope you have an awesome adventure. I love you and can't wait to see you when you get back.

Clark (Dustie/Vanessa):
The Tacoma News Tribune has submitted a small article as a follow up to the first article. They have also put in the paper a link to your blog. I realize that internet service is intermittent.
Here is the link to your blog through the TNT website. Happy Posting! http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/street/2008/04/01/blogging_from_ghana
It sounds like God's favor is already with you guys-- I've never had that kind of service from an airline!!
We just looked at the time difference and you guys are 7 hours ahead. I was going to remind you to trick someone since it is April Fools day. But it isn't where you are anymore--so never mind.
Ashley, it's weird here without you, but I suppose this is going to be my NEW REALITY, so I better get used to it. I love you, I'm proud of you, and I'm praying for all of you... --Mom/Alison
Dear Dina and Clark,
We have been praying for you and your team constantly. I have been getting emails from Granny and Gramps, Linda and Jerry, Kim Cunningham, and Auntie Susie. They have been praying for you too. Linda invited us all over this Friday night so we can talk about you and your trip. :)
We are glad you arrived safely. How are you sleeping, D? I have been waking during the night to pray for you and Clark.
We will pray about your finances. It is exciting to see His works in action and how He will meet your every need, and then some!
I miss you both very much.
Love and hugs,
Mommy
It's another beautiful morning here in the valley where gray sky meets white ground. (Just frost this time!)
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." God has great things in store for each one of you. Keep smiling and stay safe and trust God do his thing.
Angela, Gandalf's new spot is just outside of your bedroom door. The room is open but he has chosen to lay where he can watch down the hall. :-)
Love you, miss you bunches and we are praying for all of you.
Mom and Aaron
Looking forward to hearing what God is doing over there
We will be praying for you at Youth tonight

Oh Angela,
It is so strange not to see your smiling face in the kiosk. I miss you girl, but when God uses you for such things, those back home can only sit and pray and praise Him for being so loving and faithful.
To everyone, though I only know you all through Christ, if and when times get tough, trust in God and know that His will WILL be done. Keep lifting those around you in prayer, and watch out so you dont drink the water!
In Christ's love,
Your sister in Christ,
Rachel
Hey Kurts - I had to get help from Alison so I could figure out how to write to you! We miss you - It was very strange to be watching the M's without you (they won opening day!) Of course - it snowed so they had to close the roof!
We are praying for you, asking the Lord to show himself to you in ways that you may never expect.
Love you! Mom&Dad (Kai misses you!)
Hi Angela,
I remember when I went to Indonesia, that was before you were born. The people, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the flavors of Indonesia are just as real to me today as they were in the 80's. I know what you are experiencing now will stay with you a lifetime. Cherish every moment and make memories of everything you see and experience. As you pray for those you come in contact with...I know God will open doors for you and your team.
Remember "everyone smiles in the same language."
I'm praying that God will keep you in perfect peace...and that your minds will be stayed on Him.
Linda Lou
Good Morning Angela and team
Checked the weather forecast in Accra for Thursday and says that there are thunderstorms possible, and temps around 88 F, but says it feels like 101 F. It's still dark here in Seattle and you are more then half way through your daylight hours. Have you noticed whether there is a twilight or not?
Take care and God Bless
Linda Lou
Just something to think about. :-)
Good Morning Angela,
I was just reading my devotional and guess what the verse for today is. It's our verse that just keeps coming back to us, you got it....
II Corinthians 5:17 I smiled as I read the verse and of course the image of the penguins popped into my head. That was stepping out in faith and remember how God blessed that time.
You and this team have stepped out in faith, and I know that God has great blessings in store for each one of you. Just keep trusting him to do what he has planned. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you bunches,
Mom
Dear Pastor, Clark, Dina, Dustie, Vanessa, Ron, Angela, Ashley, Holly, Cameron, Becca, Curtis, Tammy, and Monica,
Greetings from "T-Town." We just wanted to let you know that we are praying for all of you and thinking about all of you. OK, I admit it, I mention Dustie and Vanessa to the Lord before the rest of you, but hey!
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but He hath delivered us from them ALL. In the New English Bible Phillippians 4:13 reads this way, "I have strength for anything through him who gives me power." May you have His power...power for the marathon versus the spring.
I bless you with unity, joy, and the admonition that all you can do is all you can do and all you can do IS enough.
God bless,
Dono, Alexis, and Aidan
PS: Deutoronmy 18:14-22
Hey Angie! We miss you lot's, and at the same time are sooooo happy that you are fulfilling your dream to go to Africa. You worked hard to reach your goal and follow God's call on your life, your amazing Ang!
SO, Is it all that you amagined and more?......wait... I can hear your answer already "OHHHH YEAH Aunt Deb", "It's soooo cool!"
We love you ton's Ang, and are just so proud of you, and how you have grown over this last year. God has so much more for you (Like the prom!!) Angela, when we give God our hearts desire AND live in obedience, well, Matthew say's he will "take us beyond our wildest dreams!"
We pray for you and the team to be safe, to see God in each step, and to boldly share the Gospel. Stay focused, enjoy each moment and know that you are in the hearts of family and friends. When you return we will all be excited to hear of all your adventures and testimonies of God's amazing Love! Of Course this will be after the HOT, Warm, Continous Shower and most likely over a dinner of Hamburger's spagetti, taco's, fried chicken, mashed potatoes...AND ICE CREAM, or in Angies case STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE!!!

Hi Becca! I pray that you are having the time of your life! Journaling is a great thing to do when you are on a trip and I strongly encourage you (and the others) to take just a few minutes each day to record the things you have seen and heard and smelled and tasted, as well as what the Lord has done in and through you! You may think to yourself, "This is SO incredible...I will NEVER forget this!" However, trust me, you probably will! Remember that, as the GLUE, you have a special "stickiness" that draws the children to you and to Jesus! You're in my daily prayers & thoughts! Love and safety to you & the team! P.S. ~ the overhead is in good hands ;-)
Holly,
Greetings again from your tech savy Dad. I posted last night but not sure where it went. Guess I'm not a techie after all.
I trust you and everyone else are doing wonderfull. Thinking about you daily and praying for all of you as I'm led. Hoping we might get a snippet of the goings on but Clark said you all might not have access to the internet. I love and miss you and sent the airport pictures to all your aunts and uncles. I'm sure they love that 3rd picture best. Proud of you!
love Dad
Hi Angela,
Well its 5:37 am Seattle time 12:37 pm Accra time...guess you might be having lunch. Having anything exciting today? Have you had any pounded yam yet?
Have you had a chance to see any artisans that do wood carvings or men that weave the Kente clothe? Hope you are able to find some neat reminders of your trip.
Keeping you always in my prayers as you give of yourself in ministry to the people of Ghana.
Linda Lou
